Project Officer – H2020 Project


 

Lisboa E-Nova - Energy and Environment Agency of Lisbon, as the overall coordinator of the European project HUB-IN (hubin-project.eu), is seeking a Project Officer to provide support to the coordination activities.

The HUB-IN project is funded through the H2020 program and aims to contribute to the transformation and regeneration of historic urban areas using innovation and entrepreneurship as key catalysts to ensure the preservation of the unique identity of these areas, along with their cultural and social values.

To ensure the achievement of this objective, the project activities aim to foster a strong local engagement, participation, and commitment, promoting the co-design and co-creation with different local stakeholders. These efforts focus on three clusters with the potential to drive sustainable transformation and regeneration of these areas: 1) Cultural and Creative Industries, 2) New Lifestyles, and 3) Resilient and Interconnected Places. The project is currently in its second phase of implementation, expanding the methods and tools initially developed for the network of innovation and entrepreneurship hubs, and already implemented in eight historic European areas, to a several other historic centers that constitute the HUB-IN Alliance.

As a Project Officer for HUB-IN, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with an international and multidisciplinary team of 18 European partners, including European cities, city networks, universities, private entities, and NGOs. Your main tasks will involve providing direct support to the general project coordinator in managing the international partnership activities, coordinating the technical aspects of clustering with European sister-projects, and assisting in the development of the HUB Colina do Castelo in Lisbon.

Responsabilities:

  • Support the general coordinator of the HUB-IN project in the technical and administrative management of the various activities within the 7 Work Packages, including participating in consortium meetings and interacting with the leaders of each WP.
  • Support the planning and proper implementation of the project by organizing tasks and providing tools to support task execution and deadlines.
  • Oversee and supervise the overall project execution.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of technical reports and presentations related to the overall project coordination.
  • Provide support to administrative and financial tasks.
  • Supervise the implementation of the 8 pilots in coordination with the Work Package 4 coordinator.
  • Support the implementation of the Lisbon pilot, focused on the development of the HUB Colina do Castelo.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably, higher education in the fields of Social Sciences (e.g., Geography, Economics, Sociology), Environmental Sciences, Architecture, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Proven experience in managing and implementing complex EU funded projects (H2020, Interreg, Life, etc.) involving international partnerships.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Portuguese and English.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.

Valued Competencies:

  • Management and supervision of projects focused on cultural heritage enhancement, local interventions for urban regeneration, economic development, and innovation processes.
  • Experience working with communities and local stakeholders using participatory methods.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: climate action, systems thinking, cross-sectoral innovation, entrepreneurship, geographic information systems, and urban planning.
  • Versatility and enthusiasm for projects involving social and technological innovation.
  • Experience in scientific writing and technical reporting.
  • Autonomy and initiative.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Availability for travel within Europe.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Miro Board.
